My faux selfie character is Viki Wiki, an extraterrestrial alien from the Moon. Viki Wiki’s name is a great example of her extraordinary and “out of this world” character and further, her personality.
Depicted through the images, she enjoys exploring our natural world specifically, mountains which are rather foreign to her. Her astrological sign being Gemini, demonstrates the different types of aliens she embodies since the major personality traits of Gemini tend to be “two-faced”, curious, and adventurous.
She goes through her explorations not alone but with her best friend who happens to be a dragon. Intertwining with Viki WIki, the chinese zodiac dragon has similar qualities of ambitiousness and passion to explore. Viki Wiki’s interests come subtly. Japan which I traced through illustrator creates the background of her interest in anime, in particular the movie Spirited Away created by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki.
Spirited Away similarly reflects Viki Wiki’s personality as the movie is extraordinary and tells a story of a young girl who must find her way through a world in which creatures thrive and nothing is like real-life. Like Viki WIki, she is helped by a close dragon friend who teaches her the power of being yourself and not taking your life for advantage. To show her funky side, inventive electronic dance music fills Viki Wiki’s head as she goes through her journey’s.These legendary fiction creatures go against the norms that real-life presents us on a daily basis and promotes the imaginary life-style we have all thought about at least once in our life.
