Hey everyone :) My name is Amanda and I am from Princeton, New Jersey. I grew up there with my older brother Leo, my parents, and two cats and a dog. I am currently a freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder and am undecided but am interested in transferring into the Environmental Design program.
My first experience with Digital Art was when I was in 5th grade. Since trolls were the big thing everyone was playing with, my best friend and I decided to create a little troll clothing business. After getting really into it, I decided to create a website for all of our clothing pieces which I actually used Wix to create. With the influence of my dad who was working in technology at the time, I was able to watch him use photoshop and website design programs which I found myself intrigued by and playing around with in my free time.
Some of my influences in art have been from social media accounts, music videos, nature, and my peers. The only art class I have taken before this course was art in middle school which consisted of mainly drawing so I don't have much experience but art is one of those things that I find myself able to express myself freely and creatively so by having the opportunity to take this course was something I knew I would take advantage of. I love the individual expression that people are allowed to freely show through their creations. Being able to display this creativity, especially in today's digital age is amazing and creates new influences and perspectives for everyone. As I further my studies, I hope to take courses in the Environmental Design program so I can combine my love for our natural world and arts to help create a more environmentally friendly and flourishing world.
